Sardine Update 18 July 2026 9 am
Sardine Update 18 July 2026 9 am: The bay at Port Edward was filled with fun yesterday afternoon, and we just received a report that it’s happening there again today. One net landed on the beach, but it was empty. Then all of a sardine, nets were deployed at Uvongo and St Michaels resukting in at least one big net.
The sardines that were seen passing Marina Beach yesterday were going flat out and might finally grace the Scottburgh area with a visit. However, another report just came through of there being plenty of action there again today.
Further south, just into the Transkei, the sharks have found the sardines, and this is what we need to get those sardines right into the bays and beaches.
If you are chasing sardines today, starting at Scottburgh would be a good bet. Port Edward is sure to have more nets going in today, but the sardines definitely have moved up the coast a bit.
