Tropika Summer Fever 2014
Things will be heating up this summer when the annual Tropika Summer Fever beach festival hits Margate and Ballito in December.
The Festival will run at Margate Main Beach from 21 to 24 December and Ballito Main (Willard) Beach from 26 to 29 December from 10am to 4pm daily, and entrance is free.
For more than a decade, residents and holidaymakers visiting Margate Main Beach and Ballito Main (Willard) Beach have been flocking to this entertaining festival, with last year’s Tropika Summer Fever attracting more than 25 000 people. This year promises to be no different.
“We know that our Tropika fans love spending time in the summer sun with their family and friends, so we are really excited to be a part of the Summer Fever Festival in KZN this year.”
“Tropika will be at the beaches to bring our fans exciting entertainment and fun family activities so that they have a smoooth holiday… what better way to enjoy the summer sun than with the smooth taste of Tropika!,” said Brand Group Manager Tropika, Miantha Padayachee.
Once again this popular beachfront event – which is KwaZulu-Natal’s longest-running beach festival at Margate and Ballito – will host a number of family-friendly activities including limbo dancing twice a day, a daily 20-minute sandcastle building competition, two dance competitions a day, children’s dance lessons, as well as daily giveaway prizes. Tropika dancers will be keeping the crowds entertained with dancers taking to the stage every hour.
The sports’ enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in one of the many beach volleyball or touch rugby events. There will be three games a day for each sport, including a daily knockout tournament to declare the day’s winners.
Beach goers will be thoroughly entertained participating in the exciting Tropika treasure chest hunts which will be held every hour. For this adventure, people are encouraged to buy a refreshing Tropika with which they will receive a key that could potentially open the treasure chest. Those lucky enough to have the right key will be able to select any item from the treasure chest as a prize.
Those looking for something a little more laid-back are invited to relax in the Chill Zone, while sipping on a refreshingly cold Tropika Eazy or a Tropika Smoooth Ice Cocktail.
And anyone daring enough is encouraged to enter the fabulous beach body competition where the coveted titles of Mr or Miss Tropika Summer Fever 2014 are up for grabs. These will be held on 22 December in Margate and 26 December in Ballito.
On 26 December, the smoooth summer fun will be filtering through radios across the province as Durban’s Number One radio station, East Coast Radio, will be broadcasting live from the centre of the Tropika Summer Fever action at Ballito Main (Willard) Beach.
