The new management has injected a cool energy into Casa de Comer. The newly introduced breakfast menu proving deliciously popular among the ex-pat community.

Casa de Comer is at the top of Rua de Alegra (Street of Joy), in the middle of Tofo. The long serving restaurant has been consistently the choice for birthday and other celebrations in Tofo. Their Franco-Mozambican fare has something for everyone, include kids and vegens. Obviously, the seafood is fresh from the Indian Ocean and always a great choice.

Breakfast at Casa de Comer

Casa de Comer in Tofo, Inhambane
Casa de Comer in Tofo, Inhambane, Mozambique

Laura, the new force at Casa de Comer in Tofo, has introduced a breakfast menu, that you will remember all day!

Of the four options, the good old English Breakfast, with crispy fried pork sausages, a wad of bacon, a huge salad, two eggs and toast with real butter…is our favourite! And all going for 150 Mets…that’s R50! There are healthy and vegetarian breakfasts too, and it is served up in minutes!

Casa de Comer encourages the local community to grow fresh vegetables and other raw materials, and it is on this organic foundation that their menu is based. Their Franco-Mozambican theme has been a favorite around here for many, many years, and Laura and her friendly staff have really been serving it up!

Their fleet of boats are professionally rigged and maintained, and aside from deep sea fishing, Must Byt also conduct ocean safari’s on their huge inflatable boats. The ocean safari’s open up up a whole world of dolphins, whales, seabirds, sharks and fish, viewed from the comfort and safety of the boat…or (conditions permitting) from in the water, with snorkelling gear.

Cycling in Tofo

At the red 2M shop in the Tofo Market…closest to the beach…you can rent bicycles. The environmentally perfect mode of transport has been a favourite choice for tourists and locals alike – zipping to the bank or garage, going surfing or sightseeing, cruising the beaches (perfectly legal although restricted to low tides) or just staying fit while on holiday.
The bikes come in various shapes and sizes…there are mountain bikes, beach cruisers and street touring bikes.
Ask for Elvis, Dercio or Jackson…
Rates are 10 mets for 10 minutes, although longer rentals carry good discounts.
