Description
54lb Solar-powered electric outboard kit
This 54lb Solar-powered electric outboard kit can save you thousands. And help you transcend to green energy use. Whilst fishing!
If moving around slowly and quietly is in your repertoire of activity on the water, then this is a fantastic option. The experience of silently cruising across the water, powered by the sun, is immensely calming.
Applications
Applications are limited. But the saltwater specified outboards we use opens it up a little wider. We use our solar-powered kits on all of our boats. To be used in some application or another.
- On our small boats, we use the solar-powered outboard kits as primary propulsion. Invariably we have two, or even three. And that is a LOT of fun!
- We use two or three of these kits simultaneously too, on our 26ft river cruiser. This big old thing weighs a few tonnes but is easily nudged along by one or three kits.
- Out at sea, these things are game-changing as we can now troll completely silently for couta
- Maneuvring boats in and out of tight parking spots is part of our daily lives. And these motors, that swivel 360 degrees and allow for all types of adjustment, are great for this job. No more crunching gears!
Training Wheels
Training a young skipper on an electric makes far more sense than training on petrol. Especially since petrol outboards are well on their way out. Already there are some electric outboard companies offering sensibly priced and pitched products.
