MYDO Silver Bullet 1/2 Oz with 4-inch Paddletail: an extra inch and an extra 1/4 ounce moves you right up the food chain a measure. In as much as you certainly catch really big fish on small lures, any fish needs to weigh up the energy required to catch that sized prey. If it’s simply not big enough to warrant the hunt and the strike, it gets passed on. But the ideal-sized baitfish for that fish will just get swallowed up in a flash.

This lure can be trolled behind the boat, or kayak. Or cast from the beach or rocks. If you go slow and erratic, you are in the deeper kob game. And when the garrick come past, just crank up the speed and your lure will come to the top and act like a surface lure. Darting left and right and making quite a big splash.

This is a perfect-sized bait to catch bait with. Bonito and small yellowfin gulp this sized lure down.

A half ounce

Put this guy on your 20lb ultra-light and cast over the horizon. Good braid is a must for these levels of performance. At the same time, this rig is not too heavy. You can really get an alarmingly good action from this lure if you work it. Change retrieve, and work on your twitch. Observe the rig in clear water so you know what exactly is going on down there.

4 Inches

This is a lovely-sized paddletail. It acts and behaves like a little red-eye sardine, anchovy, or sprat. Comes in all kinds of colours. Light and flashy for clear conditions, dark and contrasting, for overcast days or dirty water. The vibration of the paddletail contributes markedly to the overall performance of the rig.

You have the swimming action generated by the MYDO Silver Bullet up front, and the vibrating tail out the back.

Single hook

Performance from a solid single hook, set further back in the plastic, is excellent. Reliable hookups in the top jaw every time. As we have all learned, any fish hooked in the bottom jaw, has zero chance of survival when released.

We use a Kendall Round 3/0 in this bait. Very strong and totally reliable. But you can experiment with your own favorite hook. Maybe even a long shank? Some hooks need sharpening!

30lb Leader

Tied up with 30lb leader line, this is a nice a stealthy rig.  You can use a swivel to attach with. Or a convenience clip if you fish that way. Convenience clips are part of the MYDO Fishing System. And are highly recommended.
