MYDO Baitswimmer # 4 Rigged: Now this MYDO can handle any tuna bait up to 40cm or so. It is also great for walla-walla and silkies – use a long shank hook to handle the long bottom jaws of these fantastic baits. This baitswimmer is the one you can set your bottom perimeter of baits with. On the slow troll or drift, you can literally have your bait skirt across the top of the reef you fishing, opening up to opportunistic strikes from all sorts of fish – even Rockcod!

The #4 MYDO Bait swimmer is rigged heavy for bigger baits and even bigger strikes. Because it swims down deep, likely ambushees include the mighty GT, and the yellowtail bunch, including amberjack. Hence the larger trebles and heavier wire.

Rigged in this way, a strike drag of 3 to 4 kgs is recommended. To keep the fish away from reefing you right at the outset. Then, with the 5X trebles and heavier rigging, you can comfortably pull at that higher drag – also recommended!

The MYDO #4 is a great tool for expanding your impact in the water column. Start at the bottom, then a few baits on the surface, and the whole in between is still yours to populate!
