TODAY! The 27th November!1

Yip, these two guys paddled out into the teeth of a beasterly-easterly (just like the one that gonna blow today). They were out for anything that moves and man-oh-man were they each in for a treat.

Jonno got his fish first so officially got the first couta of last season. But he happily shared the honours with his mate Justin.

The 2020/21 first couta was caught by Jonno Gous. His mate Justin Campbell made sure and also caught one.

And before that…

A couple of years ago, I thought I had caught the first couta of the season. Published it and all! Meanwhile, somebody had gotten one the day before which I never knew about.

And so with egg on my face, I presented, the 2nd couta of the season…for 2018.

Well, we all make mistakes!
