Jay Steenkamp takes his GoPro everywhere! Literally. So when he is cruising a line up, searching for sardines or fiushing, and the dolphins come by, Jay is in there with them! This 6 second clip shot in clear water and great light is the stuff Jay, keep it coming man!
These dolphins were spotted off Southbroom just before the cold front hit.
It was celebrity hour in the carpark in front Orca’s Bar and Restaurant on the KZN South Coast this past week. Simon Fish and Bruce Gold popped in with various excuses for coming all the way up here from the Cape, and surfing our winter waves…
Not as though they haven’t had their share of waves this winter either…imagine how all those huge swells that battered our egos us up here, must have looked at the famed Supertubes or those other right handers that favour a slightly east swell.
Simon is busy delivering new surfboards, and Brucifire is up here to visit family for a while.

On the point off Seapark Beach, gamefish could be seen flying into baitfish, possibly sardines, today. Reports from anglers on the beach were that sardines were pushed up against the northern side of Seapark Beach and were being hammered by gamefish for hours. First light is when all the action is. Which kind of sardines is now still the question. Redeyes or normal Natal sards? Also news from the beach…a net was thrown at Umzumbe Flats and came in with sardines, shad, redeyes and mullet…all in numbers.
