? Bear On The Spot – Rocky Bay Update
Good morning, peeps! Here’s the latest from Park Rynie / Rocky Bay on the South Coast:
- ? Swells: Up and rolling, with small sets showing early.
- ?? Sea Temp: 23.4?°C inshore, 24?°C out on the shoal.
- ? Viz: Crystal clear this morning — lekker conditions.
- ? Fishing Buzz: Loads of shad fishermen out. Expect early morning and late afternoon bites, especially after last night’s full moon feeding.
- ? Tides: Low tide just after 10?AM (springs).
- ? Wind: Offshore at 5–6 knots now, swinging to a light east between 11?AM and 1?PM.
It’s a beautiful sunrise, with the moon setting on the horizon — a proper coastal scene.
? That’s an “aweh” from the Bear — and as always, dive safe and straight spears! ??
?? Scottburgh Beach Report — Sunday Morning
Almost 11:00 AM and the north?easterly wind has picked up quite strongly today, making conditions a bit unpleasant compared to the calm morning earlier.
We had plenty of surfers, bodyboarders, and paddlers out enjoying the glassy waves, but most have come in now as the wind strengthened.
It’s still partly cloudy — notice the band of clouds on the horizon, with blue skies breaking through in patches.
?? Temperature: 21°C now, heading up to a maximum of 22°C later. ? Conditions: Breezy but still a pleasant day at the beach.
? Great Kei River Morning Report
Hey morning, how’s it! We’re down at the Great Kei River, heading out toward the springs.
- ? Tide: Going out at the mouth — nearly dead low now.
- ?? Conditions: The river’s changed a lot lately, with fresh sand deposits after months of rain.
- ?? Weather: Warm sea, light swell, and a lovely quiet day.
- ? Fishing: A few kob coming out here — it’s a popular river spot this time of year.
- ?? Forecast: Wind expected to pick up later this afternoon.
Cheers man — have a lekka day and tight lines! ?
