Scratching with Ian Logie: Ian has been in the professional guiding business for decades. His specialities are the surf zone and the backline, fished from the rocks, or from the beach. The price quoted is per person per hour. Includes bait, bring your own tackle. Spinning rig at about 30 or 40lb will be perfect.

This is scratching heaven. And you can cast right over the backline from the main rocks at Sunwich Port, the main beach in the area. Which also features Ian’s “honey hole”, where he catches all those bronzies!

Ian lives in Anerley, but is prepared to travel north and south, depending on your fishing goals.
Fish
Kob, brusher, bronze bream and even the coveted hound shark are on the menu. Along with shad and smaller fish like karanteen and blacktail. Nighttime is the right time for Ian. But daytime trips are also on offer. Either way, you are in for a shot at the many different species the KZN area is renowned for.
