Eagle’s Roost Fishing Cottage on the Umzimkulu
Eagle’s Roost Fishing Cottage: this perfectly situated cottage is right on top of the north bank mountain overlooking the entire Umzimkulu Estuary! Price is per person per night.
Accommodation
We have three rooms, each configured differently, and in total we can sleep about 6 to 10. It is shared ablutions with hot showers, a kitchen and a braai area. Bedding is provided; please bring your own beach towels.
Camping
There are three campsites, and we can set up our tents for you, or you can bring your own.
Self-catering
From braai to breakfast, we’ve got you covered.
Catered
Give us your meal requirements beforehand, and we will quote you on the mission.
Fishing
Access to the Umzimkulu Estuary is via a steep path from the cottage to Lizard Rock. The very best fishing spot in the river. It is the narrowest and deepest part of the entire estuary. Rock salmon and perch live here. Garrick and Kingfish swim past like clockwork. We are a short drive to the mouth, where we will be fishing a lot. There are more places that we can drive to and fish. The low-level bridge is hot-to-trot! We have guides and boats available if need be. We also have a fishing tackle shop with ready-made traces and plenty lures on offer.
