A great example is the work we do for Captain Duarte Rato over at FishBazaruto.com. Duarte runs a high-end marlin fishing outfit for charter on Bazaruto Island. He is aligned with the hotel there which is where he hosts his exclusive guests. And runs the boats from.
Throughout the fishing seasons, Duarte keeps a detailed, informative and highly entertaining journal of his excursions. He sends each entry to me, about 1000 awesome words each time, with a handful of accompanying photographs. With captions.
You see, Duarte plays well. He knows how important this stuff is. He and I constantly push each other. Sometimes he is ahead, sometimes I am ahead. At the time of writing this, I am one post behind.
Duarte also sends me video. Some absolutely cracker stuff. Marlin flying through the air, hectic boatside action. The sound bytes really reveal the fervour and intensity of the captured moments.
These videos find their way into The Sardine News reports, Shorts and Reels, YouTube and TikTok.
Duarte runs his own Instagram very successfully. And he also helps distribute the content by sharing it across his networks each time.
