Not only was Clint Ansell on the boat as guide and skipper, but he had Morne Morkel on board. For those who don’t love cricket, I asked our local AI (Alan Intelligence). He said, “SA cricketer fast bowler, famous oke”.

Then I asked AI Alan about Adrian Le Roux, who was also long. “His mate”, came the candid reply! Turns out, Adrian is a team sports scientist…

KZN Estuaries

We have been waiting all year for this month. The month that the greenspots go beserk. And with them are the GTs, garrick (we got two in one trip recently), the tarpon, the rock salmon, shad, springer and perch!

It’s all about light tackle. But not too light! We recommend 20 or 30lb braid to start with. A 10 kg garrick will give you a hiding if your tackle is too light. And a rock salmon. Well, at any size, you have a challenge as they head you into the mangroves or cut you off on the rocks down there.
