Sporadic but meaningful bursts of rainfall have been experiences all over Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Zambezi is flowing faster and Kariba will be filling up nicely, just in time for Kariba Ferries planned 2016 launch date of the 8 February.
Drive your car straight onto the ferry! The ferry ride up the length of the lake to Milibizi, and then a scenic 250kms of tar to Victoria Falls, saves you 1200 odd kilometres, doing the same trip by road.  The one we just did, due to our lack of rain timing, in this exact instance.

Kariba Ferries have been operating since 1974! The ferry service is well known and has been utilised by many travellers over the years. The ferry operates throughout the year and is not adversely affected by the low water conditions. Provisional bookings are accepted and used to co-ordinate numbers with – the ferry needs a certain number of cars and pax, in order to sail.
Kariba Ferries are contactable via their cool and informative website on http://karibaferries.com
