Black Rock at Hole-in-the-Wall Transkei Report by Mannie Jorreiro #eastern #cape #ocean #report #warm #water: A very warm welcome to all our Sardine News viewers! Manny Jorreiro reporting from the iconic Black Rock at Hole in the Wall, and what a day it has been here in the Transkei. With humidity levels soaring to 87%, the air feels heavy, but the view more than makes up for it. The ocean is showing off its best shades of blue, shimmering under the sun, and reminding us why this coastline is so special.
The surf, however, has been quiet. On the low tide, swells are sitting at around one foot — not exactly cooking for the surfers out there. Sea temperature is a surprising 26°C, unusually warm for this far south, and a sure sign of changing seasonal patterns. High tide rolled in at 4:07, with the low at 10:04, giving locals and visitors a narrow window to enjoy the shifting conditions.
For our fishing community, reports have been mixed. A few cob have been landed on paddle tail, but overall, the conditions haven’t been conducive for deep?sea fishing. The calm seas and warm water are beautiful for a swim, but they don’t always deliver the bite anglers are hoping for. Still, that’s the rhythm of the ocean — some days it’s a feast, other days it’s a waiting game.
What can’t be denied is the sheer beauty of the Transkei coastline today. With the sun blazing, the sea sparkling, and the cliffs of Hole in the Wall standing proud, it’s a cooker of a day worth celebrating.
