Ai is a lie! As demonstrated by Brucifire.co.za
Ai is a lie! As demonstrated by Brucifire.co.za: The last time it was Batman flu. This time it’s Ai.
“The con is always on!” – Brucifire.
We decided at brucifire.co.za to catch this Artificial Intelligence wave. It’s a surf-reporting website. With a few twists and turns. And so we deployed an Artificial Intelligence strategy using bots and robbers. And we asked Ai for help on a few items.
This is what we found out…
The bots just rob the internet of its data. Correct or not. And puke it up as an answer presented with a bit of relevance from your prompt. Hardly an improvement on doing the research yourself.
And it’s mostly a LIE!
Bad Ai
Three examples…
- “What is the chance of getting waves in JBay in summer”…the reply was regurgitated off data gleaned from websites providing commercial communications (guesthouses, surf brands)…and was a fair dinkum insult to anyone who knows anything – the word cyclone never featured once
- “I asked something about Bruce Gold”…and got terms and phrases totally stolen and mashed together from interviews and websites – into an unholy cesspit of ground individualism and plagiarism
- “Why do Hawaains under call the waves”…spat out some drivel about Hawaain surf culture and crap. Meanwhile, it was the Californians playing pranks on the Hawaains!
So Ai is surface-level drivel aggregated and mashed into some sort of answer, to a prompt. Because firstly, Ai cannot learn anyone’s secrets (or can it?). And secondly, Ai cannot adopt a character and produce anything charismatic since it can only mix and mash other people’s characters into one thing. It does not have its own character. Not even Grok with his sense of humour does. It’s all taken from data that already exists elsewhere already.
And now what if there are two answers to the same question? And what if those answers are different based on beliefs? Or bias? The things that make up a character?
There will never be an Artificial General Intelligence machine robot with its own character. Sure a computer program can emulate us in some ways. I mean, they have robots walking and jumping about the place. But to program feelings and character? Which are formed over a lifetime of human and cultural encounters and information processing.
Creatives need never worry about Ai taking on any of your creative juices. If anything, jump on some of the tools now available, to better your workflow every day. All of this data and machine learning costing billions of dollars, can be put to use for the betterment of society. Sometimes they even get it right…
Good Ai
Transcription – both ways. Either write your story, or record your voice…then produce your content with both methods. On many different platforms.
Video – getting easier and quicker every day it seems, tasks that could take a week, a year ago, now just take a few clicks.
Art – yes with a few prompt refinements, you can get a useable image, for FREE. You can even then convert this still to video with a few more points and clicks.
ALL the imagery in this gallery was AI Tool generated…even the girls?! Totally fake!
The Sardine News and its affiliates have concluded that it would be detrimental for us to deploy any Ai for content generation. All our content is original. We are pledging that although we may use Ai tools for production and workflow improvements (thumbnails and things), none of our writing or scripting will be done by any Ai. It would be an insult to you guys, our readers’ – actual intelligence. And ours!
