Description
Bazaruto Archipilego Snorkeling Adventure
As the Mozambique current rubs up against the continental shelf literally a few hundred metres from the island barrier, it brings with it a host of fish and marine life.
Along this shelf, are dotted about pinnacles and ribbon reefs, some coming right up to 2 metres or less, some dropping off to the distant deep. Bait balls are common place, and there are very many spots to spot fish. Including the shallows and surf zone.
Then there is the wildlife!
There are the cetaceans – dolphins, whales and even whale sharks (gentle non-maneating giants) are all keen on interacting with you.
The gamefish are plentiful and outsized. The reef fish are colourful and always around.
And there are even sharks in some places!
Accommodation is rustic to cool, we have a few options about Vilankulos, and our own campsite – five quick minutes north of town.
We definitely need a week to get the most from the snorkeling and other attractions like island hopping and of course, normal fishing. This price is for 7 days and 7 nights. You have the boat and guide for 30 hours in total. That’s a lot of time out there, you can also use the boat for going to town, or the islands (you need to pay R100 each per day we go into the reserve). Extra boat hours are available.
The plan
This experience is available from August through January each year. Pricing is for a group of four, which is the minimum. If your group is less or more in size, then we can adjust the pricing accordingly. Just get in touch on umzimkulu@gmail.com. So, R15 000 x 4 = R60 000. 10% deposit secures booking.
