Sleeping Out has awarded The Umzimkulu Marina the 2015 Best Establishment for Port Shepstone area
Umzimkulu Marina wins all the way with Sleeping Out. Sleeping Out (http://sleeping-out.co.za) has awarded the 2015 BEST Establishment Award to The Umzimkulu Marina for the Port Shepstone area.
The Umzimkulu Marina down on the south bank of the mighty Umzimkulu River, has been hosting travelers for over a decade now. And judging by the favorable reviews and accolades, are doing it all just right.
The setting on the banks of the river is a major draw card. Grass lawn down to the water, with jetty and slipway, and boats moored and ready to go. Playgrounds for the kids.
Close enough to ell major amenities and facilities, but tucked right away in a peaceful corner of nature.
Sunset cruises are run daily at R50 for guests, R100 for the public. Deep Sea Fishing Charters are seasonably available. The entire venue may be hired out for weddings or functions.
The fishing in the river is great with all sorts of species available throughout the year.
Surfing in the area is world class.
The Umzimkulu Marina is close to the Port Shepstone Country Club and it’s golf course and other facilities. Town is 5 minutes away and Port Shepstone has long been the business hub for the lower south coast of Kwazulu Natal.
Other things to do on the south coast include biking, hiking, beach combing, safe swimming at one of the many Blue Flag beaches within a half hour Sunday drive north or south.
The Umzimkulu Marina is a self catering lodge with all the facilities including a slipway and jetty, kiddies play ground, functions area, braais and safe parking.
