10 am – Sardine netting boat has launched at Port Shepstone and is trying to set a net right now. The problem is the waves are mean with a monstrous shore break in most places.
This shoal is moving north at a rate of knots. Their nerves must be completely frayed after their recent hell journey through the predator-laden waters of the Transkei Wild Coast. They could easily be in Durban by this afternoon. Looking for a net to jump into!
6 am – Sardines in KZN 10 June 2023: confirmed aerial sightings of the first shoal of bonafide sardines to have made the hazardous journey through the Wild Coast and into KZN Natal.
