JBU Supertrial getting swell forecasts from Wavescape

Well it’s on. The contests are rolling through Jbay starting with the super trial to see who gets to enter the main event in a few weeks time.

It’s all great for surfing and money making, but don’t go near the place of you actually surf.

Over to Jarvie, the main mouthpiece for the circus…

Jeffreys Bay – The waiting period for the JBU Supertrial presented by RVCA opens tomorrow 1 June, and will stay open until 12 June. At this stage the forecast is looking good, with two storms being tracked for later in the waiting period.

Wavescape is the official swell forecaster, and gave a brief summary… “We are watching two storms in the waiting period that we hope will deliver a powerful swell worthy of the contest, although a very south-placed high pressure system has been messing a bit with the development of the type of storms we need.” said Spike. “We will be watching these two storms closely for a possible upgrade over the next few days.”

Thanks Spike!
