Night fishing for Geelbek Salmon and Yellowtail off Port Shepstone (c) Marc Lange

At the Umzimkulu Marina in Port Shepstone – night fishing is sometimes – possible when the river scours out, the tides are right, the weather plays along, the swell eases off…and the fish come on the bite.

Geelbek Salmon are a great night fighter fish…but the ultimate is the Yellowtail (Seriola Lalandi). Mainly taken on live bait and in the real deep – 50 to 60m plus.

My Dad Brian Lange and crew with 3 yellowtail and 3 Geelbek.
