Huge couta catch for Team Mydo

Huge couta catch for Team Mydo

A huge couta catch for Team Mydo today as Marc Lange and Koos Viviers returned home with the most remarkable boat load of fish.

For days and days, weeks and weeks, months and months, season and season…of coming home with no fish, Marc and Koos had the best day of their lives.

They got 9, with three going over 30kg’s, the biggest being Marc’s fish of 35kg?! Undisputed champions of the crocodile couta!

Not since the Posthumous team a few years ago got 7 in this category, off Port Edward, has anyone seen, let alone experienced a catch like this.

(The next day, not even one  The fish had moved on, just like that!)

The South Coast of KZN Natal, South Africa, has consistently been producing absolutely incredible catches of the big couta that have been frequenting our waters, for the last few seasons. They are feeding on the balls of livebait that are hanging around the area. Using MYDO Livebaitswimmers and Baitswimmers, is how Marc and Koos get to present a real good bait, at the exact right depth.

More about The MYDO here.

Anybody wanting to have a go at these trophy fish can contact me Sean on umzimkulu@gmail.com or call +27 79 326 9671.

We run boats out of the Umzimkulu Marina and stay at their cozy self-catering units right on the river’s edge. Packages including accommodation, guided deep-sea and river charters are available.
