In a fiercely contested fish off for yet another boat, this time on offer from the Marlin Ski-Boat Club in Port Edward, Greg and Dave Defillipi along with Moo Fraser took top honours, at the prize-giving yesterday.
It was neck and neck all the way through the event, but in the end, the elusive ‘couta became the critical variable. The Defillipi’s had a couta, the others didn’t. Runners up were the Posthumous team and Olivier team.
Special mention and applause goes to Marlin Ski-Boat Club for their revolutionary initiative in making the event a species and release event. This minimises the damage done to the environment and our fragile fish stocks, and increases the fun and skill elements, whilst reducing the luck factor.
As soon as the official results have been released, we will update this post…with more information.
