The extremely interesting and informative Dave Charley’s Tilapia fish farm tours in Inhambane costs R200, and takes two hours. The tour is suitable for all ages.
Dave runs you through each fish production process, from eggs to hatchlings to fry to processing to table.
The project is designed to alleviate pressure on fast dwindling sea resources. The long term plan is to equip communities here in Mozambique with expertise and resources – out-farming aspects of the fish production process. At current Dave is developing a fish feed plant with which to feed his own fish, and those of the participating communities around here.
