Co-operating with and assisting the powers that be, in the endless battle for our environment, is our only choice.
When we, as responsible anglers with a conscience, see somebody without one, loading shad by the bucket, the onus has fallen on us, to call up the DAFF guys, and report the incident. Their resources are spread quite thin, but the guys doing the beat are quite helpful and ardent environmentalists themselves. Take a picture or video if you can. Prompt response has been the norm.
These are some DAFF contact details for the guys operating on the KZN coastline and into the Transkei:
These are their direct cellphone numbers, and everyone uses WhatsApp nowadays. So become part of the team, record one of these numbers in your phone. And join the network of anglers who respect that the rules are in place for our own protection. And are to be observed.
