Copper Steenbras time
From Durban down south into the deep Cape, certain keen anglers, this time of year, are going bottom fishing.
The Copper Steenbras come on the bite this time of year. Huge bottom fishing rigs and live baits make for some serious PT. These fish do not like the surface at all.
Living on the continental shelf in canyons and caves, 80m down, and in the screaming north to south current, Coppers are a mean quarry. And reaching 80kgs or so, they fight like you won’t be forgetting soon.
These two examples are big fish. We have no details of these two fish, except that they were caught recently off the Transkei coast.
