Sardines Daily 25 June 2024 at 7AM by Adam Kamdar: Sardines Daily is a new video and data format we have been working on. We hope you enjoy the information as laid out for you. Feedback is welcome at any time. For now, over to Adam!
Good morning, guys. It’s Tuesday, the 25th of June, just after 7 a. m. We had a sunrise at around 10 to 7, so the sun is up already. The last high tide was at around 6 a. m. The next low tide will be at 12 noon. The wind speed is currently 13 kilometers per hour from the west southwest. Temperature in Durban is 16 degrees.
Wind’s becoming fresh southwesterly. And temperatures will remain around 22 degrees today, partly cloudy, so a little chilly day in Durban today. Atmospheric pressure is sitting at 1, 028 hectopascals. And data from WaveNet shows a declining trend in the water temperature. Uh, still around 20 degrees, but looking like it’s gonna break.
Into the 19 something degrees today. Bodes well for the sardines off Durban next you’ll see the sunrise view.
And here we have another gorgeous sunrise off the Durban’s Golden Mile. Looking out to sea, I can’t see any signs of the sardines. By this time of the year we normally see dark patches indicating the shoals rising, but nothing today.
There’s been plenty activity in the Warner Beach, Winklespruit area yesterday. There was successful netting yesterday. The last few days have been quite active and the netters have been getting good catches. So Sardine Run is still in full swing, but we’re just waiting for those lovely shoals to reach our Durban shores, and it won’t be long.
