Tuning Tuna…

Not too much going on at the Shelley Beach Tuna Classic this year…2 days to go and it is wiiide open…

Huge waves making for interesting conditions and crazy launches…fortunately, it seems the sea is backing off and the next two days could produce a few catches…

Shad fishing South Coast style…

Anerley (pictured) on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast is one of the spots crowded out by keen shad anglers…as the shad hunt for sardines in and out of the turbulent bays caused by the massive ground swells pounding the coast.

The huge surf has made things difficult for the sardine netters – the odd boat being flipped in the shorebreak and stuff…but the shad are on the bite….and many are getting their quota easily…

Night time at any of these shad producing spots will be a good bet to throw a belly slide bait – targeting the huge Daga Salmon that feed on the shad.

Obviously, throwing any form of live shad is looking for trouble!
